¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Me puse Abe de tanto escribir el alfabeto practicando, cambié la C por una E y nunca miré atrás escribí algunos nombres al principio pero en 1993 me quedé con ABE.
I got my name Abe from writing the alphabet so much practicing, I changed the C to an E and I never looked back I wrote a few names in the beginning but by 1993 I stood with ABE.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Crecí rodeado de mucha cultura hip hop, así que el graffiti era mi punto fuerte. Tenía un primo mayor (Zal) que era un escritor local que me introdujo por primera vez en el graffiti en 1989 y nunca miré atrás desde entonces.
I grew up around a lot of hip hop culture so graffiti was my strong point. I had an older cousin ( Zal) who was a local writer which gave me my first introduction to graffiti in 1989 and I never looked back since then.

What is your style?
Considero mi estilo de graffiti como un estilo wild del Bronx. Muchos de los pioneros en la estructura de las letras que influyeron en mucha gente de todo el mundo procedían del Bronx. Por aquel entonces no existía Internet, así que tuve que ir a ver y aprender mucho por mi cuenta, lo cual está influenciado principalmente por lo que crecí viendo.
I consider my style of graffiti as a Bronx wildstyle. A lot of the pioneers in letter structure that influenced a lot of people through out the world came from the Bronx. There was no internet back then so I had to go see and learn a lot on my own, which is mostly influenced from what I grew up seeing.

Creo que publicar mi trabajo en la web es una gran manera de dar a conocer tu nombre al resto del mundo. Lo que no me gusta es que algunas personas dan a conocer su trabajo por medio de fotos pero en persona su trabajo es descuidado…. las fotos hacen milagros para mucha gente.
I think publishing your work on the web is a great way to get your name out there to the rest of the world. What I don’t like about it is some people get there work out there by pics but in person there work is sloppy…. pictures do miracles for a lot of people.

Crecí en el Bronx, donde había muchos edificios abandonados, que es donde experimenté por primera vez con la pintura en aerosol. Mi primera pieza fuera de estos lugares abandonados tuvo que ser en una línea de metro norte 1993 en el Bronx con Smerk y Link. Ir a estas vías me abrió los ojos a otro carril de graff, iría con más frecuencia y exploraría otras vías en otros distritos de la ciudad de Nueva York. A medida que fui creciendo empecé a hacer piezas más legales, algo en una producción completa con fondo me llamó la atención. Ambos entornos de pintura crearon mi estilo que tengo ahora…. un estilo (ilegal) me ayudó a pintar más rápido y ser más preciso con mis letras y el otro (legal) me dio el tiempo para mostrar mi talento en las letras y la producción.
I grew up in the Bronx where there was a lot of abandoned building which is where I first experimented with spray paint. My first piece outside these abandoned places had to be on a metro north train line 1993 in the Bronx with Smerk and Link. Going to these tracks opened my eyes to another lane of graff, I would go more frequent and explored to other tracks in other boroughs of New York City. As I got older I started to do more legal pieces, something about a full production with back ground caught my attention. Both these settings of painting created my style I have now…. one style ( illegal) helped me paint quicker and be more precise with my letters and the other ( legal) gave me the time to show case my talent in letters and production.

My crew is KIS ( Keeping It Simple) my family crew is BT ( Bronx Team) I’m down with UW, HOT cru, TFS, SHK, and BNA…..
